My doctor has placed me on Prozac because of Obsessive compulsive tendacies and also anxiety.
Has anyone else taken it?
What kind of side effects did you have?
Does it interfere with birth control?

I am so frustrated with over-perscribing doctors! The fluoxetine wo not affect your contraceptive but there are side effects to fluoxetine that may be worse than your anxiety. There are ways that you can help yourself without the drug!

at first prozac made me dizzy and drowsy and very tired but now, almost 3 weeks later i feel great. it is the best med ive taken for depression and anxiety and ive tried MANY!
although people r different, give it a try, but give it time and u will see results because it does help.
and no it doesnt interfere with birth control ur fine.

I've been on all different kinds of depression and anxiety medication. Meds like prozac, lexapro, any ssri's, will make you gain weight like crazy. And for the love of God, do not try Cymbalta. it is the worst ever!
Wellbutrin is what I am on now and it works without having to worry about weight gain.
Depression meds do not interfere with birth control pills.
