Did Prozac give you too much nervous energy like it did me?
Treats anxiety just fine, but it amps me up too much just on 10mgs. Doc says go to every other day, but what did you do? thanks a lot.

I think the less I take of it mg wise, the more it amps me up. Vice versa. Weird.
I had a really tough time sleeping for a long time, but it is not so bad now with sleeping pills to help. I've been on 60mg for a couple of years, it is the only thing that has worked long term for my depression. It might take some time for your body to adjust to it.
It ended up being the only drug that brought me up from the depts of hell where I was at, but eventualy I did have to come off of it due to the fact that I could not sleep at night.I'd be up till the wee hours of the morning doing house work.I was given another pill for sleep. Then this wonderfull Dr. put me on Doxepine 100mg.That took care of the sleep problem & the depression.A drug that multi tasks just like me.The cure for me.I was told by a Dr. where I work that that was the best thing I could have done. What ever u do do not take any sleep meds.If u have depression it will throw u down.
Yea it gave me so much energy i did not even know what to do with myself. My psychiatrist told me i was legally high.
It made me pass out..frequently. Did not do much for my anxiety, either.
For my frequent panic attacks, I switched to Wellbutrin a few months ago. The passing out went away, along with the anxiety.
Depending on ur personal body chemistry, antidepressants (SSRIs) produce various side-effects. Prozac may help anxiety for many people, however, Zoloft may work better for others. Keep in mind, though, it takes a few months for ur body to adjust to the medication. If this has been going on for more than 6 months, I am sure ur doctor can switch u to a different SSRI.
Hope this helps~
first off. get yourself on zoloft.
prozac is VERY VERY dangerous.
antidepressants are meant to be taking EVERY DAY.
if you go a day without it you start to have withdrawl
symptoms, like what you are experiencing.
get off of that crap and get on something like zoloft, it is safer.
prozac is VERY known for high suicide rates.
I wish it did give me nervous energy. I agree it treats anxiety well, but it kind of made me feel like a zombie. Nothing really bothered me, and that was strange. I was on 40 mg a day for about a year. I quit taking it because it gave me really weird dreams. I guess meds affect everyone differently. I'd tell your doctor what you told us. Maybe the dose needs to be adjusted or maybe another anti-depressant would suit you better.
