It is a quandry.
Some people reinstate & find it helps, others find that the drug may now make things worse after a time gap has elapsed. Anecdotally (i.e. NOT scientific, but going from individuals' experiences) the 6 week point seems to be a reasonable point, after which it might be advisable to proceed with extra care.
If u wish to reinstate to see if it can help you, rather than wait it out, it might be most sensible to see ur doctor, discuss the matter, & be monitored. You do not want to be 'out on a limb' if u have an adverse reaction. I do know of one documented case of an individual in withdrawal (Paxil, I think) who spent a long time suffering & being disbelieved until finally she was allowed to retry the drug by the doctors. a few hours after the first dose (I think, can not find the reference for you), she started to get some relief.
Reinstating at a low dose might be one option, why expose ur body to the full 20mg when a lesser dose might help, & if u do experience an adverse reaction then it may be mitigated by the low dose. Prozac is available as a liquid, so taking a smaller dose is easy.
Prozac withdrawal tends to cut in later because of the longer half-life.
To be zapping at this stage is not uncommon, some people get them for months & months, but usually they lessen with time. Stress, tiredness, exertion all seem to worsen withdrawal, & the body tends to be in hypersensitive mode (light, sound, smell, emotions..) during the withdrawal process, so trying to cut down on these stimuli may help.
Fish oil & good diet may help; B vits can be too stimulating. but always check ur own reaction to anything carefully.. some people find they react badly to something that helps others... again, hypersensitivity seems to be roaming about.
