Does Prozac have any negative interactions with Vicodin

Prozac can decrease the effectiveness of hydrocodone (one of the active ingredients in Vicodin) The Prozac can inhibit the hepatic metabolism of the hydrocodone to it is active metabolite, causing it to be less effective.

You need to talk with ur pharmacist or physician before mixing Prozac & Vicodin. I would also strongly suggest that u be mindful of the use of Vicodin, which can be addictive, in consideration of ur condition(s) which is being treated with Prozac. There is a stong correlation between depression, social phobia, & substance abuse. Be careful to take ur medications only as prescribed & find a counselor, minister, or life coach whom u trust & can be honest with about ur life circumstances & ur inner self. Be well.

Prozac does not necessarily interact with hydrocodone (active ingredient in Vicodin,) but both of them--and the acetaminophen in Vicodin r all metabolized by the same enzyme group in the liver; the P450 pathway.
This may make the normal dose of Vicodin that u take feel stronger & last a bit longer--the same effect could actually be induced by drinking grapefruit juice, so make sure that u stay away from grapefruit juice & alcohol to avoid any further interactions. The current list only includes oxycodone--but all opiates that undergo hepatic metabolism (in the liver) into morphine r subject to some of the first-pass effects--like P450 inhibition.
And as with all medicines that contain acetaminophen (Tylenol, or paracetamol) avoid alcohol!
